Driver CPC Emergancy First Aid At Work - Premium course

Attendance will ensure that candidates have the knowledge to assist injured persons, including those who have suffered: A Heart Attack, Bleeding, Broken Bones, Muscular Skeletal injuries, Spinal Injuries or Head injuries. This hands on 1 day course will also cover CPR and various other life saving techniques. Each Candidate will also receive a handy book to take away.

Operator Licence Awareness Training - Premium Course

This 1 day course is aimed at both drivers and office staff to give a better understanding of the basics of compliance and operator licencing. We can offer this course as an attendance only course or as a regulated OfQual level 2 qualification.  the cost listed is without the Ofqual exam, If you would like the official Qualification please get in touch and we can confirm the final price as we do not set the exam fees. Fee includes 7 hours of Driver CPC if required.

Health & Safety

Candidates will be aware of how to perform a dynamic risk assessment prior to undertaking any task. Candidates will be able to evaluate potential risks and be able to reduce or eliminate such risk. By undertaking this course the risk of injury to candidates should be reduced.

Tiredness, Diet and Lifestyle

Candidates will be aware that they must not drive whilst they are tired. They will know the tell-tale signs of tiredness and pull over safely until they are in a fit state to drive again. Candidates will also be aware of the consequences of driving whilst they are distracted. The course should ensure that candidates do not drive whilst distracted. Candidates will learn about nutritional values and the effect that this can have on performance. Candidates will also be aware of various sleep disorders

Licence, Weights and Dimensions

Candidates will be aware of the maximum weights and sizes of the various vehicles that they may drive. Candidates will also understand the various licensing requirements for various vehicles. Candidates will understand the necessity to renew licenses and that they must report any alterations, such as medical conditions, to DVSA

Vehicle Checks & Defects

Candidates will know how to conduct a thorough vehicle check. Candidates will know that the check must be carried out prior to starting their shift, taking over another vehicle or trailer, and throughout the entire shift. Candidates will know how prohibitions work and be aware of the potential consequences of failing to carry out a thorough vehicle check.

Candidates should gain an understanding of how their actions, as the public face of the company, can improve or devastate the image of their company. Candidates shall also learn how their actions, appearance and attitude can have an effect on clients renewing, reducing, increasing or ceasing the amount of work given to their company

Drivers Hours

Candidates should be able to identify the rules that are relevant to their operation. They should also be able to adequately operate within the requirements of these rules. All candidates attending this course will receive an understanding of the various rules, how to determine which rules are relevant to them, and how to combine the requirements of the drivers hours rules with those of the working time rules.

Economical Driving

Candidates will be aware of how the degree of fuel consumption will have an effect of the profitability, or loss, of their employers business. Candidates will receive an understanding of how they can improve the fuel consumption of their vehicle and the positive effect that this can have on their employers business.

Tachograph

Candidates will learn how to complete a tachograph disk, pre and post shift. They will also learn how to identify the correct disk for the type of tachograph unit used. Candidates will learn the basic operations, generically, for the use of digital tachographs. This will include making manual entries and selecting the correct mode at the appropriate time. By the end of the course, the candidates should have a comprehensive understanding of the use of tachographs.

Security

Candidates will be able to identify potential security weaknesses and act accordingly to elevate these. Candidates will be aware of how to report potential security or terrorist threats to the emergency services. Candidates will be able to reduce the possibility of the vehicle, passengers or load be stolen, or damaged / harmed by thieves.

Emergency Aid

Candidates will be aware of when first aid should be administered. This will include calling emergency services and methods of describing where the incident has taken place, for example using motorway markings for road traffic accidents. Candidates will receive a basic understanding of anatomy and how and when to administer CPR, deal with burns and bleeding. It is intended for the candidate to have a minimum understanding of how to assist casualties they are likely to as a driver; such as road traffic injuries or for passengers or loaders, etc.

Fire Marshal

Candidates will be aware common causes of fires on vehicles and be able to identify potential fire risks on vehicles. The candidates will be aware of the correct action to take in such a situation, with regards to their personal safety. The candidates will be able to identify the correct type of fire extinguisher to use, and know the correct method of use.

Vulnerable Road Users

Candidates attending the course will be able to identify a vulnerable road user, where they are likely to encounter a vulnerable road user, and adopt a correct and appropriate manner of driving for that situation.
